Dial-A-Care
The
Dial-A-Care program is a free telephone reassurance program for
individuals who are homebound, frail elderly, or have a disability.
Many of these individuals live alone and have minimal contact
with others. Through Dial-A-Care, volunteers telephone these individuals
on a daily basis to check on their well-being and safety. In addition,
the telephone contact is a friendly voice to share a few minutes
of the day.
When
a volunteer cannot reach someone, he/she contacts Interfaith Community
Council, Inc. and an emergency plan of action is activated. We
contact the extended family and work with the family until it
is determined that the person is well and safe.
The
Dial-A-Care program serves Clark, Floyd and Harrison counties
in southern Indiana.
If
for any reason you feel the need for a daily call to check on
your safety or if you have a loved one or friend in need of this
service, please contact
us.
If
you would like to volunteer to be a Dial-A-Care caller, which
you can do from the comfort of your own home, please contact
us.
